FOLDAVALVE: A Transcatheter Aortic Valve System with Fully Repositioning and Retrieval Capacity
FOLDAVALVE is a novel transcatheter aortic-valve system in pre-clinical studies. It is a self-expandable aortic valve with a delivery size of 14-F expandable to 25mm implantable transfemorally, via subclavian or through direct aortic approach. FOLDAVALVE is equipped with a delivery catheter .INGENUITY- that allows repositioning in six degrees-of-freedom when the valve is fully formed. INGENUITY allows retrieval if the implantation is unsuccessful. FOLDAVALVE spares the leaflets from being crimped during delivery, and therefore, preserves the quality of the leaflets comparable to surgical valves.
